I have never been a girl who wanted to be in beauty pageants or doing modeling. I would have been the girl passing out on stage from being stage freight and I have always disliked being in front of the camera. My place is behind the camera and that is where I LOVE to be. However, lately I have had the pleasure of shooting headshots for women who compete in pageants across America and I am really enjoying it! I guess I was a little judgmental about pageants before I learned more about them. I thought they were all about looks and who was the prettiest girl but I have come to learn that it is more to it than that. I learned that they raise money for a good cause, examples like education or helping the less fortunate, and being good role models for younger girls.  Anyway, I had a really good time hanging with Mary Catherine, the beautiful girl you see in the photos below, and the photos look really stunning! I wish her all the luck in her upcoming pageants!

A few months ago I had the honour of shooting Jill Brooks promo photos. She is a rising star with an incredible voice and lovely personality! She is not only an amazing singer and performer, she is also a talented makeup artist and hair stylist and I have had the pleasure of working together with her on several photoshoots before. She has become one of my dear friends as well!

Here's a few photos I took on a very cold day last week. I wanted the photos to feel like an h&m ad married the 60's.. I love shooting downtown and I have a big crush on in-the-middle-of-the-street type of photos. Don't know why but there is something about the feeling about being in the middle of the road, making choices...

I got this from the Avenue Agency last night and thought I would show it to you. I shot the photos and did the design for the agency's holiday card that they sent to their clients. It was a really fun project and I had pretty much "free hands" to use my creativity to make a fun and festive card for them. I loved all the models I worked with, such fun and gorgeous girls! Some of them I have had the pleasure of working with on other shoots too. :)

On friday I am shooting a beautiful girl who is getting some updated headshots for her pageant portfolio. I am working with one of my favorite makeup artists as well so it can't be anything but awesome! A good team makes all the difference. :)
