Midsummer

Had a wonderful evening with a bunch of swede-nashvillians celebrating a Swedish tradition, midsummer, the longest day of the year with great food (yuuuummmm), singing, dancing around the maypole like frogs and great company!
So glad we're keeping the Swedish traditions alive over here :)

smoky mountains

Me and my husband left town last thursday for a mini vacation to get away from Nashville, work and to de-stress and spend time with eachother. We spent the first night in Chattanooga at our favorite spot the Delta Queen, an old steam boat that serves as a beautiful hotel on the river. It was so relaxing to fall asleep to the sound of waves. After a nights sleep we set off to the smoky mountains to enjoy some quiet time in the woods. We went fishing, hiking and riding horses and just had the best time together! There is nothing in this world that I enjoy more than to have quality time with my best friend. One of the high's of our trip was when Seth caught a rainbow trout that we prepared and had for dinner that same night. It was SO delicious!
After a whole weekend of being out in the nature enjoying amazing scenery and peacefulness together we are ready for a week of work again. Its so important to recharge batteries and slow down to be able to stay creative! I found some new inspiration that I will take with me entering into this new week.
Here are some photos from our trip!
our little friends.. we were surrounded by butterflies! They landed on us, our shoes and backpacks.
Beautiful hiking in national park
We stayed in an amazing log cabin that had a hot tub on the sundeck.

We ended a perfectly relaxing weekend with a horseback ride in the woods.

strong is the new skinny

I have always been very interested in health and fitness and been going to the gym for years. This year I decided that I wanted to take my body to the next level and get more buff, toned and more muscles. I have always enjoyed lifting heavy weights and I believe that is the best thing you can do if you want to stay in good shape and stay fit. Women don't bulk up and get huge if they lift heavy weights, which some women think. We don't have the genes for it and we have to be very intentional and work very hard to get big. I however just want to be more toned and have more defined muscles and been tracking my results for a few months now.
I got a big surprise when I stood on the scale this morning and it showed +4 kgs (8 lb)! Wow, in just a few months I have put on 4 kg muscle mass! Woho! :) At first I was shocked about having gained so much weight, but then I realized that its muscle mass and that weighs alot more than fat, cause my clothes still fit perfectly!
All that hard work in the gym pays off in the end :) I love the feeling I get after a really heavy sweaty session at the gym, not much beats that feeling!

at the shooting range

I was very skeptical when we were invited to go shoot guns at a shooting range by some friends of ours. As a kid, I was in an air rifle club and was actually pretty good, but I am not a fan of guns in general so I didn't think it would be for me. I really don't like the gun laws here in America and am not a fan of hunting for fun either. I have the mindset that "easy access" to guns will only cause problems than security. Anyway... I had a blast! I was surprised I enjoyed it so much, big adrenalin kick! Don't worry, im not gonna buy a gun. I am sticking with shooting guns at the range for fun, not owning one for protection. I think owning a gun would make me more scared of getting robbed than anything, almost like its expected. Does that make sense to anyone else but me? ;)
From now on you can call me Celi Mosley 007.
