water

I heard something scary the other day, in America, there are enough water bottles consumed every year to stretch around the world 112 times!!! Isn't that crazy?? That is a lot! I wish the government would do something about the water here to clean it and make it taste better. People wouldn't "have to" buy bottled water if the tap water was good to drink.
At home, we filter our water and I fill up my own water bottle instead of buying new ones all the time. That saves us money and spares the environment we live in.
Being so close to the beautiful ocean here makes me think about the nature and that we need to take care of it better. We recycle everything that can be recycled and try to be "kind" to the nature. There is a lot more to be done but that is a good start!
Just thought I would share this fact with you all.. not to be depressing, but to be encouraging! Filter instead of buying bottled.
the best dessert i've ever had

I had a great night last night with my husband. We went to a cozy little european inspired restaurant called Onano and enjoyed some delicious food. I had the most amazing dessert I've ever had in my life, a raspberry mascarpone tart with almond crust, the best part of it was that it was flourless so I could eat it. I am not a huge dessert fan but when I find something that sounds delicious and that I actually can eat, I treat myself. Me and my husband both enjoy good quality food and enjoying life, and today its been a really good day!
You can say that I had my "fat tuesday" yesterday, which is a day where you are supposed to eat alot of fatty foods and prepare yourself for lent and ash wednesday (google it). I have decided to start fasting on wednesday and 40 days ahead, as it is done during lent. My reasons for doing this are of spiritual reasons, to pray and give up something for forty days and to explore my relationship with God.
Lent is an old christian tradition that comes from the bible when Jesus went out in the desert to fast and pray to God for 40 days. This will be an adventure! I am giving up sugar and all things "sugary".
I hope you all are great and have a happy "fat tuesday"!
like a fish

I feel like a fish that hasn't been in water for a long time! (not dead, just thirsty..) I love the ocean!
Seth makes fun of me (in a cute way) for being such an ocean-lover and calls me a fish because I am the most happy when I am close to water, doesn't necessary have to be the ocean. All water is fine, creeks, ponds, lakes.. You get it.
There is just something so relaxing and peaceful with the sound of the waves and the deep blue or bright turquoise water that makes me feel free. It is serenity. I am always amazed by God when I am by the ocean. What an incredible artist He is that created this view, all the colors and the movement, smell and sounds.. That's why I love the ocean, because I feel the closest to God's creation and my thoughts are not distracted by other things, I can focus and let go. I realize how tiny I am in all this greatness and yet I am so loved for who I am, just as I am. That is a great feeling..
After a nice long walk to the beach and a few deep breath's, we went back to our residence and enjoyed a good breakfast. Great start of a new day.
